Abstract
Aim. This study aims to identify contemporary negative trends within high-performance sports and to devise legal strategies for their mitigation. Materials and methods. Employing a technical legal methodology, the study systematically identifies negative trends through the application of legal analytical tools. A structural and functional approach is utilized to pinpoint primary solutions to these issues, while a method of specification connects these solutions to law enforcement initiatives. Results. The systematic analysis uncovers instances of official misconduct in the organization of sports competitions, including match-fixing, and non-compliance with established drug testing procedures. The authors identify the politicization of sports as a contributing factor to the escalation of corruption and propose measures to mitigate its adverse effects. Conclusion. It is imperative for the government to enforce regulations on the corrupt practices of sports competition organizers, enhance criminal law measures to address these negative trends, depoliticize international sports organizations, and eliminate cases of national discrimination against athletes.
