IDEOMOTOR TRAINING FOR IMPROVING SHOOTING PERFORMANCE AMONG YOUTH IN THE EUROPEAN ARCTIC
Abstract
Aim. This study aims to identify the principles and applications of ideomotor training, including the development of specialized semantic representations designed to facilitate conscious execution of movements, for enhancing shooting skills, specifically focusing on the disciplines PM-1, PM-3 (shooting from a Makarov pistol). Materials and methods. The research was conducted at the Center for Civic and Patriotic Education in the Murmansk region. The research sample comprised 720 participants aged 14–17, divided into an experimental group (n = 200) with ideomotor training and a control group (n = 520) without ideomotor training. Results. The results obtained indicate significant improvements in shooting performance in the group with ideomotor training, suggesting its efficacy in technical sports like shooting from a Makarov pistol. Conclusion. The implications of these findings underscore the potential of ideomotor training as a valuable tool in shooter training programs.
