FEATURES OF SINGLE-LEG BALANCE IN FOOTBALL PLAYERS FROM DIFFERENT POSITIONS

Abstract

Aim: This paper aims to identify the features of single-leg stance in football players depending on their playing position. Materials and methods. The study is based on testing results from 129 football players divided into groups by playing position. Single-leg balance parameters were recorded on both dominant and non-dominant legs using an ST-150 force platform. Statistical analysis was performed using nonparametric methods. Results. Midfielders and full backs exhibited higher balance function values and lower center of pressure (CoP) displacement than center backs and forwards. No statistically significant differences in stabilometric parameters were observed between the dominant and non-dominant legs in any player group. Conclusion. High balance values on both the dominant and non-dominant legs were characteristic of midfielders and full backs. This may be due to their on-field roles and lower anthropometric measurements. No differences were observed in postural balance between the dominant and non-dominant legs. These features of single-leg stance can be used in coaching practice for more effective targeted training to improve postural balance with respect to individual characteristics of football players.
