A SPORTS OBJECT AS AN IMMOVABLE

Abstract

Aim. The paper aims to establish the correlation between the so-called sports objects and sports facilities by attributing specific types of sports objects to movables or the properties of the land plot where they are situated. Materials and methods. The paper involves the interpretation of legal acts and the analysis of judicial practice as a gap-filling strategy. Results. The characteristics of a sports object were identified. The type-based classification of sports objects was proposed. Sports facilities which do not possess the characteristics of immovable things were identified. Conclusion. Any sports object has the following characteristics: infrastructure for sports-related activities and events, a number of sports facilities in it, and a special purpose. The following sports objects are considered as real estate: a stadium, an equestrian sports complex, a fitness center, an indoor swimming pool, a permanent indoor tennis court. To be classified as a sports object any sports facility must comprise a building that meets the requirements of a permanent object. The following sports facilities cannot be classified as sports objects: a sports ground, a complex of sports fields for various sports, a cycle lane, a football field, a karting track.
