SUSTAINABILITY OF CULTURAL LANDSCAPES OF TOBOLSK ZABOLOTYE: DEVELOPMENT OF SCIENTIFIC AND SPORTS TOURISM
Abstract
Aim. To identify sustainability factors of cultural landscapes in hard-to-reach areas of the Tobolsk Zabolotye in the course of scientific and sports expeditions. The article provides information about the state of cultural landscapes in the forest-taiga Irtysh region in the areas of compact residence of aboriginals and long-time residents (Siberian Tatars and Russian settlers). This article aims to identify sustainability factors that have been affecting natural and socio-cultural potential from the beginning of the 20th century to the present. Materials and methods. The study is based on the use of archival materials. The authors performed a mapping of the ethnic areas of Tatar and Russian population groups in the adjacent zones of the appropriating economy and the producing one of the Tobolsk district from the first quarter of the 17th century until the beginning of the twentieth century. Results. The characteristics of the distribution of autochthonous and migrant population groups were considered, along with the effect of natural factors, including hydrographic conditions and natural potential, on a residential structure. The program of the water route aims at exploring the Tobolsk Zabolotye and solving the problems of resource extractivism through the prevention of overconsumption by third parties and minimal consumption of non-renewable resources. Conclusion. In the course of the study, hard-to-reach areas of the indigenous population of the Tobolsk Zabolotye and ecotones were identified and mapped, as were the routes of scientific and sports tourism aimed at providing sustainable development of autochthonous territories.
