Abstract

Aim : to find out the specifics of technique of hang clean performed by skilled weightlifters. Research organization and methods. One of the central questions of sport theory and practice is the problem of training and perfection of motions in sports. The solution of this problem will be more effective if the modern insight to the structure of exercising technique is elaborated. Using the computer-assisted video analysis and methods of mathematical statistics we determined the specific features of technical characteristics, the first motion, and the jerk performing depending on the athlete’s body weight. We analyzed 304 hang cleans within 90–100 % weight intensity when athletes were doing the corresponding exercise. The obtained data for the skilled weightlifters were processed in three groups of weight categories – lightweight (56–69 kg), middleweight (77–94 kg), and heavyweight (105+ kg). Results. Analysis of the obtained data has revealed that for all three weight categories the force interaction of athlete and barbell shows the same tendency: the maximum effort is done at the moment when the barbell is being lifted from the platform, and the minimum effort is done during the transition phase. Conclusion. The analysis of the obtained data has revealed that for all three weight categories the force interaction of athlete and barbell shows the same tendency: the maximum effort is done at the moment when the barbell is being lifted from the platform, and the minimum effort is done during the transition phase. It has been established that during the phases of preliminary and final barbell acceleration the athletes of heavy weight categories exert a higher force to barbell than athletes of other weight categories.
