CATEGORIZATION AS A SAFETY REQUIREMENT FOR PARTICIPANTS ON ADVENTURE TOURISM ROUTES IN THE REMOTE TOBOLSK ZABOLOTYE REGION

Abstract

Aim. This study aims to adapt the methodology for categorizing ski touring routes in the remote Tobolsk Zabolotye area, characterized by challenging natural and climatic conditions. Materials and methods. This study draws on a theoretical and methodological framework established by domestic and international literature on sports tourism route design and categorization. The research employs general scientific and specialized methods, including cartographic analysis and principles for the design and categorization of ski touring routes. Results. The assessment of route difficulty categorized the proposed ski route as Grade I-II. Therefore, the route maintains an appropriate level of safety for participants. Conclusion. The study proposes a ski route traversing the remote areas of dense settlement for the indigenous population of the Tobolsk Zabolotye region.
