ANTHROPOMETRIC INDICES AND CARDIOVASCULAR FUNCTIONAL TESTS FOR ASSESSING PHYSICAL CONDITION AND FUNCTIONAL RESERVES IN TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY STUDENTS
Abstract
Aim. This study aims to assess the physical condition of first- and third-year technical university students in order to identify the dynamics of adaptation processes. Materials and methods. This study involved 120 first- and third-year students from Ufa University of Science and Technology, aged 18–24 years, with no contraindications to physical activity, who gave their voluntary written informed consent to participate. Results. The study revealed differences between groups. Specifically, first- and third-year female students demonstrated insufficient adaptation to physical exertion, manifested by deviations from reference values in several parameters. Meanwhile, third-year male students exhibited stabilization of functional status, as evidenced by normal Erisman and endurance index values and satisfactory Ruffier test scores. Furthermore, sex-related differences in adaptation processes were also observed and required further investigation. Conclusion. This study provides deeper insight into the dynamics of student adaptation and emphasizes the importance of a personalized approach to academic and physical education.
