Article retraction
The retraction policy is implemented by the editorial board of the Human.Sport.Medicine journal. Retraction is a mechanism for changing already published scientific information and notifying readers that the work contains serious flaws and erroneous data that cannot be trusted. Retraction is also used to alert readers to cases of duplicate publications (when authors submit the same data in multiple works), plagiarism and concealment of conflicts of interest that may have influenced the interpretation of the data or recommendations for its use.
Reasons for withdrawing the article:
- detection of incorrect borrowing (plagiarism);
- duplication of an article in several journals;
- detection of falsifications or fabrications (for example, manipulation of experimental data);
- detection of serious errors in the work (for example, misinterpretation of results), which casts doubt on its scientific value;
- incorrect list of authors (persons who do not meet the criteria for authorship are included);
- hidden conflict of interest (and other violations of publication ethics);
- republishing an article without the consent of the author;
- the article did not go through the peer review procedure.
Retraction of articles in the Human.Sport.Medicine journal is carried out as follows:
- The editorial board of the journal carries out retraction upon the official request of the author or a group of authors of the article, who explain the reason for their decision, as well as by the decision of the editorial board of the journal on the basis of their own expertise or information received by the editorial board.
- The editors must inform the author (group of authors) about the retraction of the article and justify its reasons.
- The editorial board does not mechanically remove articles from the electronic version of the journal and from the archive of the journal's website. The article and the description of the article remain on the journal's website as part of the corresponding issue of the journal with the inscription WITHDRAWAL/RETRACTED and the retraction date, the same label is placed near the article in the table of contents of the issue.
- The Council on the Ethics of Scientific Publications (to enter information into a unified database of retracted articles) is provided with information about the retracted articles:
- Name of the author/authors and title of the article;
- Title of the journal from which the text is withdrawn;
- Initiator of article retraction;
- Reasons for withdrawal and the date of the decision;
- Link to the page on the journal’s website, which provides information on retraction;
- Metadata and DOI;
- Topic.
- In case of serious moral damage, information about the violation of scientific ethics can be transferred to the author's place of work.
- The editors reserve the right to independently decide on further cooperation with the authors of retracted articles (complete refusal of cooperation, refusal to cooperate for a certain time, appointment of additional experts in case of repeated cooperation).
In the event that the author (s) refuse to withdraw the article, the publisher has the right to withdraw the article without their consent, since he is responsible for the content of the journal.
- In case of retraction, the funds received by the publishing house from the authors for publishing services are not returned.
