Abstract

Abstract. Aim. This study aims to establish the elemental and morphofunctional profiles of young people from Magadan with respect to their type of physical activity. Materials and methods. This study involved 16-year-old male athletes (n = 91) born and raised in Magadan, all with at least 5 years of sports school training. Study participants were divided into two groups based on their athletic discipline: martial arts athletes (n = 45) and skiers (n = 46). Comparative and correlation analyses were performed on key morphofunctional indicators, cardiovascular parameters, and elemental profiles. Volume oscillometry and atomic emission spectroscopy were applied. Results. The analysis demonstrates a significant intergroup difference in adaptive capacity, with martial arts athletes superior to skiers (43.4 vs. 11.4 arbitrary units). Skiers, however, demonstrated higher hemodynamic values. The study showed differences in micronutrient metabolism among the young athletes from different sports. Correlation analysis demonstrated a more complex system of relationships between elemental status and hemodynamics in martial arts athletes compared to skiers (24 vs. 12 significant correlations). This finding suggests a greater degree of integration among physiological systems in martial arts athletes and more specialized adaptive mechanisms in skiers, attributable to their outdoor training sessions. Conclusion. The analysis revealed significant intergroup differences in the athletes’ adaptive capacity. Higher hemodynamic values were recorded in skiers, reflecting the specific cardiorespiratory demands of cyclic sports. The micronutrient status in both groups was characterized by an imbalance, attributable to differences in training structure and metabolic requirements.
