TEACHERS’ PRESTIGE IN SPORTS UNIVERSITIES
Abstract
Aim. This paper aims to identify the main indicators of prestige for teachers in sports universities. Materials and methods. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining literature analysis, empirical research, mathematical and statistical methods, and questionnaire surveys. Specifically, a survey of 40 students at Don State University was conducted to gather data on perceived teacher qualities contributing to profession prestige. Results. Students prioritize professional competence as the most significant factor influencing teacher prestige in sports universities. This assessment is primarily based on the teacher’s expertise in the subject area. Other important qualities identified include originality in teaching methodology, interpersonal skills, personalized student approach, and respect for students. The last was consistently emphasized by all respondents. Conclusion. This study emphasizes the critical role of teaching performance in maintaining the prestige of the teaching profession in sports universities. Thus, fostering professional and personal qualities could contribute to the prestige of teachers.
