Abstract

Aim. The paper aims to justify the effectiveness of a means for developing coordination abilities in motorcycling. Materials and methods. The study was conducted on the premises of a Motorcycling sports school in Chelyabinsk. 9-year-old children participated in the study during their initial preparation in motorcycling. To evaluate the coordination abilities of children, a set of tests was used, the choice of which was determined by the features of coordination abilities in motorcycling, as well as the age-related features. General physical preparation included general fitness exercises and the exercises aimed at developing certain physical qualities. Special exercises mostly included balance exercises, jump rope exercises, as well as imitation exercises. Results. A comparative analysis of experimental data proves the efficiency of the means used for developing coordination abilitites in young athletes. This is justified by a significant increase in the coordination abilities of athletes. Conclusion. The results obtained can be used in sports establishments associated with motorcycling.
